Ramaphosa Appoints Mcebisi Jonas as Special Envoy to the U.S.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Mcebisi Jonas as Special Envoy to the United States, tasking him with promoting South Africa’s diplomatic, trade, and bilateral interests. Jonas, a former Deputy Finance Minister and current MTN Group chair, will represent both the President and government in engagements with U.S. officials and the private sector. The Presidency cited his track record in public service and investment promotion as key to the appointment.
