About us

Reneé Thompson, the founder of Thompson Trust, is an experienced Parliamentary Liaison Officer with a demonstrated history of working in Parliament and Government. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Journalism from Stellenbosch University, and prides herself on strong community and social services in addition to her political experience. She is currently doing her PhD with the University of Stellenbosch, her research is focussed on the legislative process of the South African Parliament.

Over the course of her career, Reneé has held numerous specialised positions in Parliament, including a number of positions with the African National Congress (ANC) Caucus in Parliament. Her experience includes drafting and speech writing, internal communications management and resource centre management. She has also worked as a Liaison Officer for two Cabinet Ministers.

Reneé has built up an extensive network during this time and has been inspired to use that strength to assist South African and International businesses, especially those who do not have a dedicated Government Liaison Manager.

Reneé is also a co-founder of Susters4Life, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering and uplifting women in South Africa’s impoverished communities.
